Since the establishment of the IYCY in 2012, IYCY has been implementing several programs in different sectors reached the most vulnerable people with lifesaving and economical projects through Yemeni governorates such as Alleviate poverty; suffering and injustice, the majority of vulnerable communities we serve face dire situations in the areas of health and nutrition.
IYCY works to ensure inclusive access to the most basic life-saving services for all people. from 2014 to now, IYCY reached more than 1.9 million people in around Yemeni governorates, with provision the most lifesaving services of Youth, Women Empowerment, Health Care, Wash (Water sanitation and Hygiene Promotion), Food Security Livelihoods, Agriculture , Fisheries , Shelter NFIs, CCCM, Protection, Environment, Energy, pollution, Land governance, biodiversity conservation , Climate Change, Gender, Peace , Education services , capacity building and environmental protection awareness .
In addition, almost 2.56 million people benefited from our work through implemented several projects in different sectors and scaling up our innovations. Furthermore, due to the high expertise among IYCY’s staff and Consultants, IYCY has conducted more than 25 studies and Need Assessment in various fields across Yemen.
IYCY is an active partner member with UN National and Sub-national clusters of Nutrition, Health, Food Security Livelihoods and Agriculture, WASH, Protection, Child Protection, Shelter/NFIs and CCCM.
IYCY has played a key role at the local, national and International Levels. In partnerships with several UN-agencies and international NGOs (UN-OCHA, YHF, UNICEF, UN Women, UN-Habitat, WHO, UNHCR, Help Age International, DFID-UK, Vitamin Angels, DRC, Mare Stops International, KS Relief, GIZ, and CANI etc.).
IYCY has got an accreditations and memberships from different UN agencies and other international NGOs such, granted special Consultative Status from the United Nations Economic and Social Council ( UN ECOSOC) and accredited to the United Nations Office at Geneva .
IYCY is consider the only Yemeni NGO that holds an observer NGO Status from United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) , Observer NOG Status from United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), Observer NGO Status from UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Observer NGO Status from Minamata Convention on Mercury and Observer NGO Status from UN Convention on Biological Diversity (UN CBD) .
IYCY also holds memberships from the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) , Climate Technology Centre & Network , International Land Coalition (ILC), YOUNGO , UNMGCY, IYF, SDSN, IPYG, CAN – Arab World, Global Land Tool Network (GLTN), IPEN, GEF- CSOs, GWP, SuSanA and FP2030 United Nations Foundation.
