In a crucial step towards building a sustainable future, the International Youth Council-Yemen (IYC-Yemen) and the Resources Foundation for Sustainable Development (RFSD) collaborated to train 26 young men and women on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Held in Amanat Al-Asimah in 2019, this impactful training equipped participants with knowledge and skills to become agents of positive change in their communities.
  • The training Led by Engineer Tareq Hassan, President of the Arab Youth Sustainable Development Network and IYC-Yemen representative, the training delved into the history, goals, and implications of the SDGs.
  • Interactive sessions focused on crucial goals like ending hunger (SDG 2) and achieving clean water and sanitation (SDG 6), equipping participants with practical strategies for action.
  • Group activities fostered innovative thinking, leading to the development of sustainable projects addressing key challenges faced by Yemeni society.
  • Engineer Hassan provided valuable mentorship and guidance, encouraging participants to further refine and implement their projects.
  • The training forms part of the “Sustainable Development Goals Ambassadors Project – Yemen,” aimed at empowering 100 young people in the capital to spearhead awareness campaigns and projects.
  • It focused on nutrition, food security, clean water, and sanitation, the project fosters tangible change at the local level.
  • By actively engaging and equipping young people, IYC-Yemen and RFSD are laying the groundwork for a more sustainable and equitable future for Yemen.
