IYCY first Yemeni NGO got Accreditation from UN Environment

International Youth Council-Yemen (IYCY), has been granted an Accreditation to the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) of UN Environment previously known as the United Nations Environment Program, which grants them observer status to UNEA as the first Yemeni Organization due to its efforts in Environment and Sustainable Development in Yemen.
In a press statement, the Chairman of the Council Mr. Tareq Hassan said that the this accreditation comes as a culmination of the efforts made by the IYCY in bringing about positive change in the environment and , energy and Climate Change activities in Yemen.
Throughout the past few years in various governorates of the Republic of Yemen, which have contributed significantly to build the capacities of young people and enable them to participate actively in the development of Yemeni society as well as through many awareness and campaign programs such as , Plastic Pollutions ,Water pollutions, Climate Change and installing of solar energy to Medical Centers to protect Yemen Environment . .
“This is a great opportunity for the Council to be universally recognized, and it gives the team a great impetus to engage in global youth issues towards sustainable youth development around the world and to contribute to the achievement of the goals of global sustainable development 2030.”The Council is at the international level where United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) is a global meeting organized by UN Environment that bring member states , civil societies and stakeholders to discuss the environmental issues that affect our environment said Hassan.
On behalf of the IYCY team, Hassan expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for this recognition of excellence and that it is time to do more work and responsibility to empower young people not only in Yemen, but globally.
IYCY is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that specifically targets youth and society. It works to spread civic culture through its fields of education, health, rights, environment, and the economy.
