International Youth Council Yemen (IYCY) and Department for International Development in the British Foreign Office – David launched the distribution of shelter kits project in Al Maafer – Taiz
Within the Humanitarian Response Plan International Youth Council –Yemen (IYCY), launched today, 17 September 2018, the distribution of shelter kits project for Alhudidah governorate displaced families, settled in Al Maafer district – Taiz governorate.
The project targeted 360 displaced families, affected by the war in Alhudidah governorate. In the first phase, in the first phase, 122 displaced families were targeted with shelter kits consisting of blankets, water bucket, mats, kitchen kits and a solar energy flashlight.
The project is implemented in coordination with the shelter cluster and under the supervision of Al Maafer district local authorities and the Community Committee in the targeted sub-districts, which are Alshaobah, Alkalaibah, Alanbo, and, Algabziah sub-districts.
This humanitarian aid is considered as a supplement to what was distributed in the first stage tents for those affected by the floods. The distribution of shelter kits project are one of the most important humanitarian projects to alleviate the suffering of IDPs and an emergency response to the relief of those affected in Al Maafer district.
The IDPs expressed their thanks to the International Youth Council Yemen for the humanitarian efforts in Al Maafer district, and follow-up and monitoring the movement of displaced persons in the areas that were displaced during the new crises.
