IYC-Y, the first organization in the Middle East, has been accredited for five years by the International Youth Federation (IYF) in recognition of its commitment and dedication.IYF empower young people as a first step towards international recognition of the Council as a leading organization in youth empowerment, development and sustainable development. In a press statement, the Executive Director of the Council Eng. Abdulrahman Al-Asali said that the membership of the Council in the Federation comes as a culmination of the efforts made by the Council in bringing about positive change in the knowledge structure of youth and activating their developmental role in the advancement of society through the implementation of many activities and programs in this field.
Throughout the past few years in various governorates of the Republic of Yemen, which have contributed significantly to build the capacities of young people and enable them to participate actively in the development of Yemeni society.
He pointed out that the Council has implemented many projects and events that varied between projects in the field of youth, peace-building,others related to the development of NGOs and other projects according to the needs of the community, which stems from the vision of the Council in support of youth participation. This enhance their leadership role and enable them towards Contributes to the creation of an integrated youth system that contributes to the promotion of community stability.
“This is a great opportunity for the Council to be universally recognized, and it gives the team a great impetus to engage in global youth issues towards sustainable youth development around the world and to contribute to the achievement of the goals of global sustainable development 2030.”The Council is at the international level where the International Youth Federation is an international youth network with considerable experience in this field and aims to empower young people around the world. The Federation works under the vision of international youth around the world along with the global goals of sustainable development .The aims are to empower young people and encourage their participation among National Youth Societies and raise the level of achievements of young people around the world.
The International Youth Federation was motivated by the need for a collective and better understanding of what youth participation entails, how it can be implemented for all youth ages and to support the inclusive participation of young people in community, government, policy-making and decision-making activities and to increase knowledge and understanding of youth issues among individuals and government bodies of importance Influence and speak in a common voice on all
issues relating to youth.
On behalf of the IYC-Y team, Al-Asali expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for this recognition of excellence and that it is time to do more work and responsibility to empower young people not only in Yemen, but globally.
