Providing lunch meals and Psychological Support Services for IDPs
International Youth Council – Yemen (IYCY) with in Coordination with FID Foundation and Positive Foundation, Providing lunch meals and Psychological Support Services for displaced people from AL-Hodeida, in 22-8-2018. The event was held at Abo Baker School. The event aimed to mitigate the psychological effects of the war in that areas which they were displaced, and sharing the joy of Eid with children. 500 families and 300 children (150 boys-150 girls) benefited from the event.
Summary of the event :
-At the beginning, the team visited the center to know about the basic needs of the event.
Then they identified the recreational activities and all requirements for lunch.
After that, they got all the needs (meat, rice, vegetables, fruits , toys …. etc) and stored it inside a room at the center.
At the day of the event, the team tried to make a mechanism for the distribution.
Then all the members of the families got lunch meals by cards.
Finally, all the children got the psychosocial support services after lunch.
Overall results:
-Providing more than 500 lunch meals to the displaced people from Hodeidah who are living in the center.
- 300children (150 boys-150girls) got benefited from the Psychological Support Services.
-Monitoring the database of displaced people.
-Sharing the joy of Eid with the children.
