The First Training Course on Needs Assessment in Conflict Sittings for NGOs
Day after day the crisis increasing and it became worse in Yemen, the poverty rate and peoples’ needs are increasing; which the rate of people who needs help reaches to more than 21 million populations. Many people we do not know about them how they live, eat and survive, we do not realize their needs and the results behind that is the absences of the dad and information as well as some of them we could not reach to their areas. Kids suffer from multi diseases as malnutrition and acute diarrhea, they live under this difficult situations which deprived them form the necessary needs, Mothers and fathers suffer every morning and night without any artifice, waiting the pure hands for help to notice their needs. In the same time, the non-government organizations and Youth initiatives lacking in building up the important skills in various aspects one of them is the lack of understanding of the phases and equipment that needed in doing needs assessment. For this point, the idea of doing continues series of training courses in order to qualifying youth and the NGOs.

In this context, and within the context of IYCY’s strategies, and its programs. As well as under the slogan of “Enable Youth and the civil society organization” Starting today the first step of the (Needs Assessment in Conflict Sittings Program); which represented by doing the training course for 45 participants from different NGO to introduce to them the methods that using in the needs assessments in conflict sittings within the standers of MIRA by the professional trainer/ Fateh Al-Amari. The course included important topics about assessments and its needs, one of the most important topics was about how to implement the MIRA’s steps to do the right and complete assessment with fewer errors and with more accurate information. In addition, the course involved participations and discussions, as well as some filed trials about the barriers that may happen and face people who want to collect data or analysts. In fact, the participants showed noticeable interests in the course, as they thanked the members of the Council for such course in order to develop the NGO and youth. Moreover, the members of the council emphasize their determination to continue this courses which included in its entirety in finding an effective humanitarian response based on necessary needs. In his part, Mr.Amar Ali the public relation manager thanked the participants for their attendance and the positive participations which give hops and optimism to do more courses and activities for youth to enable and develop them in various aspects.
