During the course, presented by Dr. Saddam Husami, and Dr. Adib Al-Humeiri, Participants were given information about cholera and how to treat it, to reduce deaths, how to control infection in hospitals to reduce the spread of the disease and to protect health workers from the risk of infection.

“A select number of volunteer trainees have been selected selectively from outstanding teachers who have the ability to communicate and influence, so that they can educate the community on a large scale,” said course coordinator Dr. Adib Al-Humairi. Al-Humeiri added that “the targeting of Alagshoob sub-district comes because the spread of the epidemic is very large, and recorded a number of cases with cholera recently, the latest recorded a death case of last Friday.” “The death occurred because of the lack of awareness by means of prevention of the cholera epidemic,” he added. Al-Humiri thanked all those who contributed to the success of the training, especially IYCY.
