International Youth Council \u2013 Yemen Participates in the Arab Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Biodiversity Financing to Enhance Climate Resilience<\/p>\n

As part of joint efforts to protect biodiversity in the Arab region, the International Youth Council \u2013 Yemen took part in the Arab Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Biodiversity Financing to Enhance Climate Resilience, launched by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) at the United Nations House in Beirut, Lebanon, in cooperation with the Government of Sweden.<\/p>\n

The forum, held as a leading regional platform, brought together officials from the ministries of environment, agriculture, and energy in Arab countries, alongside partners from civil society organizations, research institutions, and the private sector, to discuss the major challenges posed by climate change on biodiversity and to explore innovative and sustainable financing solutions.<\/p>\n

During the participation, Dr. Abduljabbar Hassan, representative of the International Youth Council \u2013 Yemen, spoke about the Coastal Areas Restoration Project aimed at strengthening climate resilience and achieving green prosperity in the Arab region. He emphasized that protecting coastal communities from flooding and erosion, while promoting green economic opportunities for youth and women, represents a strategic priority for the coming phase.<\/p>\n

In this context, the forum report highlighted that:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Arab Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Biodiversity Financing aims to foster an informed dialogue on biodiversity conservation priorities and response measures in the face of climate change. The forum will also showcase collaborative projects that provide practical opportunities for building partnerships and mobilizing resources to enhance climate resilience.\u201d<\/p>\n

This participation comes as part of the International Youth Council \u2013 Yemen\u2019s commitment to supporting national and regional efforts to protect biodiversity and to strengthen joint climate action, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the global climate agenda.<\/p>\n
